Campus Recreation Program Information at this time
updated: Monday, March 30
All campus recreation facilities are currently closed. The access for Bellomy Field and Degheric Tennis Center has been removed. At this time if you do use any facility that is not able to be locked we ask that you physically distance yourself at least 6 feet from other users. This is due to the stay at home order- we have some stay at home workout options on a new webpage to help keep you active while our facilities are closed. Please click here to see those suggestions.
Fitness classes for finals week & spring quarter are TBD. The Malley Center closed March 16 at 4 p.m. until further notice. When we can reopen we will resume a class schedule that is TBD. See the stay at home webpage for FREE fitness options at home.
In an effort to do our part to reduce the possible spread of the Covid-19 virus, the Intramural Sports Program offerings for the spring quarter are going to be virtual. We will begin with offering MADDEN20 and FIFA20. Registration starts Wednesday, April 1 - see the IM Virtual Webpage for more information by clicking here.
As of Thursday, March 12, all Club Sports competitions for the remainder of the academic year have been canceled, including championship events, and formal and organized practices. This cancellation of the competitions will apply to all Santa Clara University Club Sport teams, regardless of their national governing body affiliation.
At this time we have not made any decisions in regards to our summer camp - the Bronco Kids All Sports Camp - we will be evaluating this program on May 1.
If you have specific questions please contact Janice DeMonsi, Director of Recreation, email@example.com.
Stay at Home but Stay Active
We have created a webpage with many free options (and we will keep updating as we find and learn of more) for you to stay active at home during the stay at home order in California by the governor. On this page you will find:
Stay at home workouts (various fitness platforms that have many workout options - equipment, no equipment)
Outdoor ideas (hikes in the area, our NEW run, walk, roll virtual event)
Dryland exercises for our swimmers
Sports & Recreation (tips for some sport drills & brain games)
Please check out the page of ideas by clicking here. If you have any more FREE options to add please share and we will keep the list growing.
Be Well at SCU
Additionally, Campus Recreation has worked with Campus Ministry, the Wellness Center and other resources on campus to create a comprehensive slide deck highlighting resources to aid your mental health and wellbeing based on the email Jill Rovarios sent in January. Check out the slides here, and see all SCU has to offer to help your wellbeing.
